A Historic Barn Renovation

After years of neglect, this 2023 renovation created lively new spaces for an active family of five.  A new pool anchors the outdoor spaces, served by an outdoor kitchen, grill, and covered seating area, with an indoor cabana and bath connecting to a new gym. The first floor also includes a two-bay garage, a custom ski and sports equipment room, laundry, and a separate entrance to a mudroom with stairs up to a two-bedroom apartment above.

Without adding square footage, we increased their living space dramatically, both for family and for entertaining. A bonus was freeing up much needed storage in the main house. This modest structure required significant structural work to save the existing barn, while balancing historic preservation and modern updates to meet both local requirements and the clients’ goals.
