    Founding Partner

Kirtley Cameron is the Founding Partner of Cameron & Corrigan Architects in Bedford, New York. Kirtley launched her residential practice more than twenty years ago after earning her Masters of Architecture from Columbia University. Her work spans historic restoration and new construction with an equal passion for adding to a home’s long history or creating a new home where clients can start a new story.

Kirtley grew up among the historic houses of Newport, Rhode Island, and fell in love with the way buildings both bring history to life and shape the way we live today. She studied art history at Middlebury, and worked at Sotheby’s for almost a decade before turning to architecture. She is committed to both historic preservation and sustainable building, embracing preservation not as freezing a building in time, but as stewarding its thoughtful evolution ensuring it remains a home that will be lived in and maintained for decades or centuries to come.

Kirtley has served as president of the Bedford Historical Society and on the town's historic district commission and strategic planning committee.  She also sits on the Advisory Board of Bedford 2030. In her role as board member for independent schools and clubs, Kirtley has overseen multiple institutional capital projects including for Rippowam Cisqua in Bedford, NY,  St. George's School in Newport, RI, and Middlebury College, where she currently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees. Being on the client side for these projects has provided her with a more comprehensive perspective of the design process, and built her listening and team management skills.
