A Historic Farmhouse Renovation
Updating c. 1760 Hobby Hill Farm to celebrate the home’s rich history and create new spaces for an active and creative family
A working farm well into the 20th century, Hobby Hill Farm has many of its original features, including eight fireplaces and floorboards. This renovation replaced a more recent greenhouse addition on the north side of the original house with a new mudroom, kitchen, sitting room, and pantry. A highlight was creating the indoor-outdoor dining barn with a large fireplace including a lintel stone found on the property.
Our team combined two smaller bedrooms to make an updated primary suite, while retaining two children’s bedrooms with renovated baths. Significant design and planning went into improvements that can’t be seen, addressing structural and mechanical needs throughout.
