A Charming Historic Colonial

Renovation of an 18th Century home in the heart of Bedford Village

The David Hays House, circa 1780, was one of the first houses rebuilt in Bedford Village after the burning of Bedford during the Revolutionary War. This 2015 project was part historic restoration, part update and part new addition.

Within the existing house, the bedrooms were reworked into a gracious multi-room primary suite with an office, shared dressing room with fireplace, and new bath. On the main floor, the formal entertaining rooms were restored, the kitchen expanded and updated with pantry, bar, and ample light, and a family room addition with an indoor-outdoor fireplace opens to the new patio. A new attached garage adds modern convenience, a more private backyard, and an upstairs home gym and office.
