The Revival of a Historic Property

Restored outbuildings, new outdoor seating areas and a new garage transform the grounds of this 1780s Bedford Village property

The heart of the project was the barn: by removing later additions and restoring it to its original form, a dated, neglected structure became a bright, modern pool house. Oversize barn doors frame views of the pool in summer; a new fireplace draws people in through the winter. A new garage with storage below connects the pool area back to the main house, while new outdoor seating areas, tucked quietly behind it, add a sense of privacy to this in-town 1780s historic property in Bedford, NY.
