A Chic Addition in Bedford Village
A new addition to an 18th century Colonial allowed for the creation of a new mudroom, stairs to the basement, and a new porch.
Completed in 2020, this addition to the Aaron Read-Baylis house packed a huge amount of benefit into a small number of square feet. The new mudroom created a family entry and arrival that was missing. It now connects the house to the driveway, garage and pool area that our firm had previously designed.
In addition to open and closed storage and a large soapstone sink and potting area overlooking the patio and back yard, the project included new interior stairs to the full basement. Finally, above the mudroom is a private porch off the primary bedroom. While it was not in the original scope it is ultimately the favorite part of the project for the owners.
